Styling Tips by Howey

For this weeks blog we've teamed up with established blogger @Howeydon as he reveals his styling secrets to achieve both formal and casual looks, which will turn heads for all the right reasons.
Howey is not your usual influencer, he expresses a flair of individuality and creativity in his work, setting him apart from others. A successful model too, he has walked the Vogue runway and gained a repertoire of knowledge and experience in the fashion industry, so when it came to approaching a blogger for our next collaboration it was a no brainer for us! We asked him to select his favourite styles and show us how it's done...

"Firstly, congratulations, you have just gotten a suit that fits you perfectly. You probably didn’t need any alterations done because of the wide range of sizes to choose from, which is rare with non-bespoke type tailoring and something Marc Darcy does its best at. Now you have found the perfect fit, how do you shake things up and take your suit styling game to the next level by making it versatile enough that you can transition the same suit from casual to semi-formal or even very formal. Here are my top tips which win every time."

"It is no doubt that shirts, when buttoned up and accessorised with a tie or a bowtie, are as formal as you can get with a suit. Perfect for weddings, black tie events and for the office. To transition your very formal look to a more casual style, say for instance you are about to hit the dance floor after the wedding dinner or a few drinks after work, undo the collar and the first button of your shirt. You can even take off the suit jacket or blazer, whilst still remaining very dapper with your waistcoat on."

"Rather than a shirt, t-shirts are a much more semi-formal and relaxed way to wear your Marc Darcy suit. Team up with a classic white t-shirt in the summer for a crisp look or a jumper in the winter. Play safe by opting for classic colours like greys and blacks as these would go well with any colour suit. Should you feel a little more adventurous, go with a colour that complements the inner lining of your suit. This is guaranteed to earn you extra dapper points."

"For a daytime or professional feel to your suit, accessorise with a tie and a matching pocket square. For an evening or party look, a bow tie paired with a pocket square brings a much more fun and dapper feel. Stand out in true Peaky Blinder style by taking your look back to the early 1900’s and accessorising with a flat cap and a chain watch attached to your waist coat or suit jacket. This style captures the essence of a true gentleman. For an office wear accessory, team up your look with a leather document holder or bag."

"The state and style of a man's shoes say a lot about his character. To be honest what this translates to in my opinion is, are your shoes clean and well soled? A Marc Darcy suit needs to be paired with a good pair of shoes. Colour wise, a classic pair of black or tan lace up Oxford or Derby shoes are perfect for a formal daytime style. A pair of tasselled loafers or buckle strap shoes make for great evening wear shoes."
