The summer heatwave may still be fresh in your memory but before you know it the kids will be back to school and the leaves will be turning brown which can only mean one thing, Autumn is upon us. It may be sad waving goodbye to summer but the prospect of cosy, earthy toned tweeds make the transition so much more exciting! Our new autumnal arrivals for the upcoming seasons fit the brief perfectly, here are just a few of them....
Autumn is when tweed comes into its prime, acting as a barrier against the cooler climes which we're not quite accustomed to. This season we've introduced a houndstooth check style which comes in the form of a blazer and waistcoat duo. The Edward range is available in two colour ways, navy/grey (pictured) and olive, both earthy tones to reflect the fall surroundings. In true MD style we've added some identifiable features such as velvet trims and under collar colour block. You'll also notice we've pared-down the pattern of the lining on this one so the attention isn't drawn away from the standout heritage check. As this style only comes in a blazer and waistcoat you have free reign for your trouser choice although we'd suggest navy or burgundy chinos, finished off with some loafers.

In a Prince of Wales style check, the Luca suit will fill the gap of Autumn occasionwear nicely and keep you looking fresh in the fall breeze. Navy is the perfect neutral colour for a suit, not only versatile but sophisticated too and super easy to match up to other clothing items. This wool-blend tweed features eye-catching wine accents which will allow you to coordinate with wine accessories like our knitted tie and a pair of matching monkstraps. We can see this one making an appearance in many a country wedding against a rustic backdrop.

For those sunny A/W days we're hopeful for, it's nice to opt for a lighter colour palette. The Watson suit is perfect for the bluebird days with its refreshing sky blue shade and touches of beige. Spot on for weddings during the fall months ticking off something blue, yet it can also be dressed down with chinos or denim for an off-duty look. The Watson comes in a three piece suit or separates and adopts the same houndstooth check as the Edward range. The panelled lining is laden with our signature paisley print in sky blue and gold, in keeping with the colours in the check, and the blazer comes complete with a matching pocket square for formal attire.
Have you noticed a theme so far? Houndstooth check is a key feature in our new styles and for good reason too. This particular type of check is synonymous with tweed garments, just like our new Eddie blazer and waistcoat duo. The Eddie range is the epitome of Autumn with it's rustic colour palette of burnt orange, brown and tan with a hint of blue. The bold camo patterned interior adds a contemporary edge to the characteristically vintage style of the Eddie and will keep heads turning even when you've taken off the blazer. If you're after a Peaky Blinders-esque look then this one is for you.

Last but certainly not least we've given the Kelly range of waistcoat a refresh with some brand new and exciting colours so you can mix and match to your hearts content. All waistcoats in the new collection come in single and double-breast and come complete with the obligatory coordinating pocket square.
