MD x Spencer & Hugo

You can take the man out of Chelsea but you can't take Chelsea out of the man! This party wear season we've teamed up with an existentially elegant duo in the form of Spencer Matthews and Hugo Taylor, best known for their appearances on the hit show Made in Chelsea. Now onto bigger and better things, the perfectly polished pair make their presence known in a lavish stately home and show us how festive season style is done the right way. Expect to see their bold personalities shine through with eccentric velvets, luxurious tweeds and daring checks. Take it away gents....

You can never have too much tweed, especially in the winter months. Spencer shows how to break it up with the Eton Blazer and waistcoat paired with the Rambo trousers. Combine prints with a striped shirt and top off with a knitted tie in deep red. Meanwhile Hugo makes onlookers green with envy in the Ellis three piece suit and added touches of tan and sky blue.

Hugo demonstrates that blue can be worn all year around and to add a party wear vibe opt for a tie with a bit of pizzazz. This is the season to be daring with your style so think patterns and vibrant colours. Although your mind may be screaming all kinds of no, there really is no harm in mixing blue and red, in turn making it even more season appropriate.

Yep you guessed it, more tweed...and you'll be thanking us when you're hit with the outdoor chill when the cars arrive! The rich tones of these blue tweeds come to life when paired with berry shades. Both Spencer & Hugo wear shades suited to them and pull them off to perfection.

Break the mould of the traditional black suit with the addition of a check waistcoat as modelled by Spencer. Another way to lift a monochrome look is to add a bit of vibrancy through accessories. The Ross suit has a tendency to fall into the workwear category but it can be instantly transformed to a party look with a burgundy wine hue on your tie, pocket square and shoes.

Is it really party season without lashings of velvet and jacquard!? The gents have saved the best til last with some of our party wear classics. Demand attention in the Simon which, if you're brave enough, can be worn as a complete three piece suit as Spencer demonstrates. If you don't want the hassle of people touching your blazer every five minutes, opt for a slightly more subdued but equally as luxurious option like the Warren blazer & waistcoat duo paired with black suit trousers, as styled by Hugo. Add the obligatory bowtie and that's the black tie dress code nailed.

Whatever you've got planned this party season, do it in style, class and don't overdo it on the martinis ;)
